Inspired by The Handless Maiden

International Women's Day 2026 carries the global theme:

Give to Gain

A call towards reciprocity.
Support.
Shared responsibility.
Collective progress.

But many high-functioning women are already giving…constantly.

You give stability.
You give leadership.
You give emotional labour.
You give reliability.
You give steadiness in a crisis.

You are capable.
Competent.
Relied upon.

And somewhere along the way, your nervous system learned: It is safer to manage than to need, safer to organise than to receive, and safer to give than to be supported.

So when real reciprocity is offered, something in your body tightens.

Receiving feels exposing.
Letting go feels irresponsible.
Depending on someone else feels dangerous.

This is not personality.

It is a female nervous system strategy.

A pattern built over years of adaptation, often invisible, often praised, often mistaken for strength.

Until it becomes exhaustion.
Resentment.
Quiet collapse.

Or the sense that you are carrying far more than anyone sees.

If “Give to Gain” is to mean anything real, it must include the capacity to receive.

And that is not a mindset shift.

It is biological.

In This Workshop,

We Will Explore:

Inspired by the story of The Handless Maiden—a woman who loses her ability to grasp, manage, and over-function—we will examine:

• How over-functioning becomes wired into the female nervous system
• Why high-capacity women struggle to trust support
• The subtle freeze beneath constant competence
• The difference between independence and regulated autonomy
• What true reciprocity requires in the body
• Somatic practices to soften the grip and expand your capacity to receive

This is not about giving more.

It is about building the internal steadiness that allows giving and receiving to exist in balance.

This Workshop Is For You If:

You are the one others lean on.

You rarely fall apart in public.

You anticipate needs before they are spoken.

You are emotionally aware, and still find it hard to relax into being supported.

You do not identify as “struggling” but you know how much you carry.

You want reciprocity, not dependence or collapse,

but real mutuality.

You are ready to examine the female nervous system pattern beneath your competence.

What You’ll Experience

This will not be a lecture.

This is a somatic, grounded exploration of the female nervous system.

You will be guided through:

• Body-based practices to track where you grip and brace

• Micro-expansions of capacity rather than overwhelm

• A deeper understanding of how your adaptation formed

• A new relationship with receiving that does not threaten your strength

The work is steady, precise, and adult.

Why This Matters

Equality and shared power do not happen through effort alone.

They require nervous system capacity.

Reciprocity requires women who can receive without collapsing, and give without depleting.

That is the deeper meaning of “Give to Gain.”

And that is the work we practise:

• On retreat - where women step out of over-functioning and into embodied presence.

• Inside Circle - where capacity is expanded week by week.

This workshop is a doorway into that depth.

If you are a high-functioning woman ready to explore what sits beneath your competence, this space is for you.

About Charli

Charli Wall works at the intersection of the female nervous system, relational patterning and embodied feminine leadership.

With a background in mental health nursing and addiction services, alongside years of guiding women through somatic and relational work, Charli understands how high-functioning women adapt to survive, and how those adaptations eventually become limiting.

Charli knows this terrain intimately. For many years, she was the capable one—caretaker, leader, anchor—until her own nervous system reached its edge.

The work she now teaches is work she has walked through in her own body.

Having walked this path herself, Charli possesses an intimate knowledge of this subject.

For years, she was the steady anchor—the capable caretaker and leader—until she experienced her own limits of burnout.

The practices she now teaches are those she has personally embodied and navigated.

Her work is not about surface empowerment.

It is about increasing feminine capacity.

Capacity to stay present.
Capacity to receive.
Capacity to soften without collapsing.
Capacity to hold power without over-functioning.

Through retreats, Circle and private 1:1 work, Charli creates spaces where women step out of performance and into embodied steadiness, expanding their nervous system in ways that are subtle, sustainable and deeply felt.

This International Women’s Day workshop is a doorway into that depth.
